Proxies by Type

Choosing the right proxy type

HTTP & HTTPS

Built for the web — ideal for browsing, scraping and API calls. HTTPS adds an encrypted CONNECT tunnel for secure sites.

SOCKS4 & SOCKS5

Protocol-agnostic and lower-level — carry almost any TCP traffic. SOCKS5 also supports UDP, IPv6 and authentication.

Every type, verified

Whichever protocol you pick, each proxy is tested for status, speed and anonymity before it reaches the list.

Proxy types — frequently asked questions

What is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS proxies?

HTTP proxies relay plain web traffic; HTTPS proxies tunnel encrypted connections via CONNECT, so the content stays private end-to-end. Both are great for browsing and scraping.

SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 — which should I use?

SOCKS5 is the more capable choice: it supports UDP, IPv6 and authentication. Pick SOCKS4 only when a specific tool requires it.

Which type is the most anonymous?

Anonymity depends on the individual proxy, not the protocol. Open any type list and filter by “Elite” to get high-anonymity servers.

Can I combine a type with a country?

Yes — open any type list and use the filters, or start from Proxies by location to narrow by both at once.
