What is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS proxies?
HTTP proxies relay plain web traffic; HTTPS proxies tunnel encrypted connections via CONNECT, so the content stays private end-to-end. Both are great for browsing and scraping.
SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 — which should I use?
SOCKS5 is the more capable choice: it supports UDP, IPv6 and authentication. Pick SOCKS4 only when a specific tool requires it.
Which type is the most anonymous?
