Every proxy is probed against an independent judge before it is listed: which protocols answer, how fast, and which headers it adds. Our verification methodology documents each check in full.
It also documents what the checks cannot tell you — we would rather be useful than impressive.
Locations come from MaxMind GeoLite2, with public geolocation APIs as a fallback when it has no answer. Country is usually reliable; city is best-effort and we do not claim an accuracy radius.

Proxies that stop responding are retried with a growing back-off and drop off the list once they stay dead.
