Are free proxies safe? Read this first
Public proxies are operated by third parties, and traffic to the proxy is not encrypted at the proxy hop. Treat them accordingly:
- Never send passwords, payment details or personal data through a free proxy.
- Good for scraping public data, ad verification, checking localised content and general anonymity — not for banking, accounts or anything sensitive.
- Free proxies are volatile: a working proxy can drop at any time. Re-test with our proxy checker right before you rely on it.
- For business-critical or high-security work, a trusted paid provider is the safer choice.
- Respect the law and each site's terms of service and robots.txt when using proxies.
We screen for honeypots and remove suspicious servers — see our verification methodology — but no free public proxy should be trusted with sensitive data.
How the proxy checker works
Validate a whole list in seconds — no signup, no install.
-
1
Paste your proxies
Drop one IP:PORT per line into the box above. Mixed HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 lists are fine.
-
2
We test each one
Every proxy is probed against independent judges for status, response time and anonymity — in parallel.
-
3
Read the live results
Working proxies are flagged with their latency, anonymity level and detected country as results stream in.
-
4
Use the verified ones
Copy the proxies that passed and plug them into your browser, scraper or app with confidence.
What the checker tests
Status & speed
We confirm the proxy actually accepts connections and measure its real response time, so dead and sluggish proxies are obvious at a glance.
Anonymity level
By inspecting forwarded headers we classify each proxy as transparent, anonymous or elite — so you know exactly how much your real IP is exposed.
Country & geolocation
Each working proxy is resolved to its country, so you can pick IPs in the exact location your task needs.
Protocol detection
HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 are handled correctly, so you can test a mixed list without sorting it first.
Add this proxy checker to your own website
Give your visitors the same real-time checker with a single line of code. The ProxyVerity Proxy Checker Widget is responsive, supports light & dark themes and batch checking, and runs safely in an isolated iframe — no backend required on your end.
<script src="https://panel.proxyverity.com/widget/embed.js"
async
data-width="100%"
data-height="520"
data-theme="light"></script>
Paste it anywhere in your page — the checker renders itself.

Proxy checker — frequently asked questions
Is the proxy checker free?
Yes, the checker is completely free and needs no signup. Paste your list and test as many proxies as you like.
What proxy formats can I paste?
Use one IP:PORT per line. You can mix HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 proxies in the same list — the checker handles each protocol correctly.
What does the anonymity level mean?
Transparent proxies pass your real IP through, anonymous proxies hide it but reveal that a proxy is in use, and elite proxies hide both. Prefer elite proxies for privacy and scraping.
Why did a proxy show as working a moment ago but fail now?
Public proxies are volatile — they go up and down constantly. Re-run the check right before you rely on a proxy, and keep a few spares.
Can I add this checker to my own website?
Yes. Embed the free Proxy Checker Widget with a single script tag — it is responsive, themeable and runs in a sandboxed iframe.
