In short
- Permanent free plan with 10 proxies and no credit card required
- Published per-IP pricing that falls from $0.0299 to $0.0179 per proxy as volume grows
- Yearly billing saves 30% on top of the volume discounts, per the provider
- The unlimited bandwidth claim carries an asterisk pointing to a Fair Usage Policy, so read that policy before buying on the word unlimited
- The provider's own pages give both 195 countries and 50+ locations, so the real footprint is hard to pin down
How we scored it
- Network coverage 4.5
- The provider claims 80M+ IPs over 195 countries and 400K+ datacenter IPs, but its own pages also list 50+ locations, so the usable footprint is unclear.
- Product range 4.5
- Datacenter, static residential and rotating residential cover the three common scraping patterns, with private and dedicated allocations available by the IP.
- Pricing 4.6
- The full per-IP ladder is published, from $0.0299 down to $0.0179 per proxy, with volume discounts up to 40% and a further 30% for yearly billing.
- Free plan 4.8
- Ten proxies, permanent rather than time-limited, and no credit card required, so you can test the endpoints before paying.
- Usability 4.3
- Standard host, port and credentials work with anything speaking HTTP or SOCKS5, and bandwidth and thread limits are published per plan.
I picked Webshare up because I needed two things at once: a datacenter pool I could buy by the IP without an enterprise contract, and a static residential address for a handful of sessions that had to keep the same IP for weeks. The permanent free plan made the decision easier — ten proxies, no card, so I could point a script at it before spending anything. Everything below comes from Webshare's published material. I have not run my own benchmark, so every performance figure here is the provider's claim, not a measurement of mine.
What it is best for
Webshare's product line splits along the lines that most automation work actually falls into. Datacenter proxies are the cheap, high-volume option: the provider lists 400K+ IPs in that pool and prices them per IP, so cost per request drops as the order grows. Rotating residential is the pool for jobs where the source address needs to look like a consumer connection, with the provider claiming 80 million+ residential IPs and targeting down to country, state, city and ZIP code. Static residential sits between the two: the provider says those addresses come from ISPs including Comcast and AT&T, and the same IP is held for as long as the plan runs, which is what session-based work needs.
- High-volume scraping where per-IP cost dominates the bill.
- Session-based work that needs an address which does not change mid-run.
- Geo-specific requests where you need a city or a ZIP, not just a country.
- Evaluating on a budget — the free tier costs nothing to try.
What is the cheapest way to run a small datacenter proxy job on Webshare?
Answers: 4
🆓 The free plan carries 10 datacenter proxies at no charge and the provider states no card is required, and the first paid step is 100 proxies at $2.99 per month — so a small job sits at the bottom of the published table.
📉 The per-proxy rate only improves with volume: $0.0299 at 100 proxies against $0.0179 at 60,000. Below a few hundred proxies the absolute monthly cost stays small either way, so the tier choice matters less than the thread ceiling.
🌐 Residential is a separate ladder with its own starting figures, $6.00 per month for Static Residential and $3.50 per month for Rotating Residential, so the datacenter table does not describe that side of the account at all.
⚙️ Plan size also sets the thread ceiling, listed between 500 and 3,000, so a small job is bounded by concurrency as much as by how many IPs it holds.
What I liked
The free plan is the part I would point people at first. Ten proxies, permanent, no credit card — the provider calls it a permanent free plan rather than a trial, and that is a different kind of commitment from the seven-day windows most of this market hands out. It is enough to see how credentials are issued, how the endpoint is formatted, and whether your stack talks to it at all.
The price ladder is public. You can see the per-IP rate at every tier before you commit, and custom plans cover volumes that sit between the listed bands. Nothing about it is hidden behind a sales call.
The endpoint details are sensible. HTTP and SOCKS5 are both listed, and IP authorisation is offered as an alternative to user and password. Rotating residential supports country, state, city, ZIP and ASN targeting.
For people who do not want to script anything, there is a Chrome extension, and the API is documented at length. Webshare also lists integrations and a help centre alongside 24/7 support and dedicated account managers for larger accounts.
What I didn't
The unlimited bandwidth claim on residential plans carries an asterisk. The pricing note reads "Subject to our Fair Usage Policy". If you are buying on the word unlimited, read that policy first.
The provider's own numbers do not line up neatly on footprint. The global network is described as 80M+ IPs across 195 countries, while a separate line lists locations as 50+ countries. Those may be two different measurements — countries where something is registered versus countries where you can actually pick an exit — but as a buyer I cannot tell which is which from the page, and for a two-market test that mattered to me.
The static residential page names Comcast and AT&T and then stops at "& more". That is not a full ISP list, so you cannot check whether the specific carrier you need is in the pool before you pay.
Finally, the headline reliability numbers — a 99.7% success rate and 99.97% uptime on both the network and the datacenter pool — are the provider's figures. No independent check is cited.
The products
Three main lines, plus free, private and dedicated variants.
- Proxy Server (Datacenter) — 400K+ IPs, listed at $2.99 per month for 100 proxies, with the provider claiming 99.97% uptime.
- Static Residential (ISP) — residential addresses held for the life of the plan, from ISPs including Comcast and AT&T, with up to unlimited bandwidth, listed at $6.00 per month.
- Rotating Residential — 80 million+ real residential IPs, country, city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting, listed at $3.50 per month.
- Free Proxy — 10 proxies at $0, no credit card required.
- Private and dedicated proxies — sold by the IP rather than the request, priced separately for the datacenter and static residential pools.
The aggregate network is described as 100+ Gbps, with 650B+ proxy requests handled per month and 90K+ paying customers. Those are provider figures.
How to get started
The path is short. Create an account, and the free plan gives you ten proxies immediately without a card being entered. From the dashboard you can pull the endpoint list and either authorise your own IP or use the username and password the provider issues. If you would rather not write code, the Chrome extension connects to the proxy from the browser.
When you outgrow the free tier, pick the pool — datacenter, static residential or rotating residential — and choose the proxy count or plan size. Bandwidth and thread limits are set per plan rather than negotiated, so the numbers on the pricing page are the numbers you get. Larger orders and anything that does not fit the listed bands go through custom plans. Anyone needing a specific city or ZIP should confirm that target exists before paying, since targeting options differ by product line.
Integrations
Webshare lists an integrations page and an API with what it calls extensive documentation. "Seamless integrations" is marketing language, not a specification. What the facts do support: HTTP and SOCKS5 endpoints, IP authorisation, and a Chrome extension for the no-code case. If your stack needs a published SDK or a ready-made guide for a specific framework, check the integrations page before you buy.
Usability
The credential model is the ordinary one: host, port, username and password, or IP authorisation if you would rather not pass credentials. That means anything that speaks HTTP or SOCKS5 should work without a plugin. Bandwidth allowances run from 250GB to unlimited depending on plan, and thread ceilings from 500 to 3,000, so the thing to watch when sizing a plan is which of those two you will hit first — a small proxy count with a low thread cap behaves very differently from a large one on a browser-driven job.
The free tier is the lowest-friction way to see all of this for yourself. You get the real endpoint format and the real authorisation flow, not a sandbox, and you can decide whether the dashboard and the API suit you before any money moves.
Pricing
Datacenter proxies are sold by count, with the per-IP rate falling as volume rises: $0.0299 per proxy at 100 proxies, down to $0.0179 from 60,000 up. The full ladder, with the discount at each step, is in the pricing table.
The other pools are priced by plan, and the private and dedicated allocations carry their own per-IP rates, also in the table. Yearly billing saves 30%, and residential bandwidth is subject to the provider's Fair Usage Policy.
Customer service
Webshare lists three routes: 24/7 support, dedicated account managers for accounts that qualify, and a self-service help centre. A documented API, a help centre and a free tier let you answer most questions yourself before you file a ticket. That is the part of support you can check in advance.

What stood out
In its favour
- Permanent free plan with 10 proxies and no credit card required
- Published per-IP pricing that falls from $0.0299 to $0.0179 per proxy as volume grows
- Yearly billing saves 30% on top of the volume discounts, per the provider
- Three distinct pools: datacenter, static residential (ISP) and rotating residential
- Rotating residential targets country, state, city, ZIP code and ASN
- HTTP and SOCKS5 endpoints on the same credentials
- IP authorisation offered as an alternative to username and password
- Chrome extension for people who would rather not script anything
- API with what the provider describes as extensive documentation
- Bandwidth tiers from 250GB to unlimited, thread limits from 500 to 3,000
- 24/7 support, dedicated account managers and a help centre listed
Against it
- The unlimited bandwidth claim carries an asterisk pointing to a Fair Usage Policy, so read that policy before buying on the word unlimited
- The provider's own pages give both 195 countries and 50+ locations, so the real footprint is hard to pin down
- The static residential ISP list names Comcast and AT&T and then says "& more", so you cannot check a specific carrier before buying
- The 99.7% success rate and 99.97% uptime figures are the provider's, with no independent verification alongside them
Our verdict
Webshare makes sense if you want datacenter proxies priced per IP with the rate card published, and a free tier that lets you test the plumbing before paying. The static residential line suits anyone who needs the same ISP-issued address held for weeks, and rotating residential covers jobs that need city or ZIP-level exits. It is a weaker fit if you need a named ISP guarantee, an independently verified success rate, or clarity on where the fair usage ceiling sits before you commit to an unlimited-bandwidth plan. Anyone whose two key markets hinge on the difference between 195 countries and 50+ locations should ask support first.
